Northwood Elementary School raises over $3700 with its "Reading for a Cause" program to support Brian Morman's P.U.N.T. Foundation
Nothwood Elementary School in West Seneca and the P.U.N.T. Foundation teamed up for "Reading for a Cause". Tina Battaglia. 3rd grade teacher at the school, had an idea to get her students excited about reading and giving back to children in WNY who are battling cancer. All 600 students were encouraged to ask family and friends to make a donation for every minute they spend reading.
Every child who participated received an autographed picture of Brian. The classroom that read the most minutes was treated to an ice cream party hosted by Brian. The response was overwhelming with over $3700 raised. The money will go directly towards the programs that the P.U.N.T. Foundation has developed that support families affected by pediatric cancer.
Thank you to all the students at Northwood Elementary School who participated in "Reading for a Cause" and the families and friends who supported them. Without your support, we would not be able to help the children in WNY who are fighting cancer.
